Taste is an educational task

Flavour in style, quality and climate protection on the plate

Our housekeeping staff take care of your physical well-being, cleanliness, the atmosphere and the structuring of the house.

We have been a vegetarian establishment since 1 January 2022 and offer you a varied full menu completely without meat and fish, for example in addition to regional cheeses we also offer homemade savoury and sweet vegetarian bread-spreads which are also available during breakfast and dinner.

When possible and after prior contact we are happy to cater for special needs and food intolerances.

Please use the Special diet form for this purpose.

In addition to our full catering service, we are also happy to provide you with packed lunches, snacks, evening snacks, drinks, fruit and snacks from our One World shop in the seminar rooms by prior arrangement.

If you have any questions about our catering, please contact our kitchen management. We are available on weekdays from 8:00 - 14:00 on 08333 / 9206-16

It is important to us:

  • we buy and cook according to the season
  • We support local producers through our purchases
  • We reduce sugar, use wholegrains, even in small substitute quantities, handle food with care and ensure a wholefood-orientated fresh diet
  • we remain critical of large corporations and their products and prices and look for regional alternatives
  • we show that a good quality cuisine and healthy preparation are affordable
  • We are happy to pass on our kitchen knowledge and would be happy to hear about the shown interest in our JuBi-Cooking Book "stirred - spooned: delicious!"(8,9 MB PDF)

On the way to a climate-neutral JuBi and enjoyment with responsibility

In line with a holistic approach, we want to promote a sustainable way of life through our education work, our projects and the way we handle things. We want to manage a way of living and set an example for others to follow, for now and for our future.

This and much more makes JuBi a sustainable education centre:

  • We joined the KlimaBündnis Allgäu (Climate Alliance Allgäu) in order to constantly review ourselves to see how we can achieve climate neutrality by 2030. We are convinced that everyone - including us - can do something about the climate crisis.
  • Our guests enjoy good vegetarian, mostly seasonal and regional food. Why? Because it is tasty and healthy (good living). We emit much less CO2 with vegetables, fruit and dairy products (responsibility). Vegetables and fruit require less space to grow than animal feed for meat (biodiversity) and animal welfare is important to us.
  • We are aware that not everyone wants to be vegetarian - but still we want to raise awareness, because even a lower per capita meat consumption can help to drastically reduce the negative impact on the climate and animals. On average, every German consumes over 60 kilograms of pure meat per year. The CO2 emissions caused in 10 years amount to 5,785 kg per capita. At our education centre, our aim is to highlight these connections, offer alternative courses of action and actively make it possible to experience enjoyment with responsibility during your stay at the JuBi.
  • JuBi has undergone an energy renovation, uses green electricity, utilises green shipping and solar thermal energy and operates a combined heat and power plant
